Here's what the humans have to say about me:
NELSON - Lab/Bull Terrier mix, male, 2 years, 50 lbs. Nelson is a true companion dog. If he gets to be with his person (he's particularly fond of women) he's happy. Whether it's a run, a drive, a walk, or visiting friends, Nelson is up for the adventure. At home, if his person is sitting down and relaxing, he is likely curled up in a ball napping close by. Nelson is completely housebroken, and has excellent house manners. He'd likely enjoy a home with another dog, and he should not be housed with cats. He continues to work on his leash manners, and with training in general; he is responsive and eager to please. He knows "wait" and "down," and will reliably stop at intersections and to let people by (a person with a stroller, joggers, etc.) while walking. He has shown no resource guarding behavior. Nelson is a little skittish, and doesn't like loud and unexpected sounds, so he probably would prefer a quiet country or suburban home. As far as his energy level is concerned, he will match his person's level of activity on any given day, relaxing or running, but enjoys his walks a great deal. As long as he's with his person, he's a happy guy.
** If you are interested in adopting this dog, you must first complete an adoption application at http://peppertree.org/adoptapp.php. Or visit our site (http://peppertree.org/adoptlist.php) and learn about other Peppertree dogs. *Note: visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
