Bucky's Story...
Bucky is a playful and curious canine with the softest fur. He loves to chew on bones and squeak his toys. His favorite thing is to cuddle when he's sleepy. Bucky gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He will stay inside, but gets antsy and needs to go outside every once in awhile to get some energy out. Bucky has never shown aggression towards humans or other animals, only love. Bucky hates being alone, as most dogs do, and will need a dog friend if he is going to be alone daily. He is eager to please and easily trainable and would make someone a great companion.
Bucky is currently enrolled in our SCAR program which is a 12 week inmate training program at Pocahontas State Prison where he will be house and crate trained, and taught basic commands. Taking applications now for adoption in April 2016 upon completion of his training.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bucky, a Coeburn Beagle/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Labrador Retriever for sale in Coeburn, or seeking a Beagle/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Coeburn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Coeburn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Coeburn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Beagle/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Coeburn paves the way for another one to be saved.
