My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Vader and I have been here at FOF since Christmas. That's right, an FOF volunteer saved me from the streets and I actually had a great Christmas dinner. But since then I have been wandering around their garage (along with Miles and Amber) because it is rather large and all three of us like to go and do as we please. I have my own cage which I sometimes use, when I feel like it. I also have beds strategically placed where I like to nap. I was taken to the vet and treated for a UTI. I am old, like really old. They aren't sure how old. But I have the usual old cat ailments like kidney disease, and general frailty.I would love for a sucker to take me home. All I ask for is a warm bed, canned food every day, and the occasional pet. I am not whatsoever demanding. I could care less if you have other cats, wake up with bed head, or watch reality TV like it's going out of style (which, btw, I think we are stuck with it). A foster home would be wonderful (FOF promises to cover all vet care for a foster home), but an adoptive home would be even better! They have lots and lots of cats here at the shelter, so placing a senior 'special needs' kitty would allow them to save more cats in my place! Does anyone remember Xena and Hank? Boy they were old battle axes, yet suckers adopted them anyway! (Hey Karen and Denise how are your adoptees doing?) So there is hope for me. I can't promise that adopting (or fostering) me won't quickly go from 'retirement' home to 'hospice care', but if you have never taken in an old soul for their last days, you have missed out on something truly special. Something that only certain people, hand picked by God, get to experience. Please share my story so my angel-human can find me!Vader is a senior male available for adoption through Focus on Ferals in Byron Center, MI.
