My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mr. McFluffers is a very handsome longhaired Snowshoe with blue eyes. He's about 5 years old. He is a very sweet, affectionate cat, in spite of all he's endured during his time on the streets. His left rear foot was broken some time ago, so he can't jump up on things and limps a little. It probably won't require fixing, being such an old injury. He has adapted very well to his handicap.
Even though he is a longhair, he is very fastidious and requires very little brushing, although he does enjoy brief brushing daily after he bathes himself following breakfast. We believe he would be best in a home as the only cat, as he seems to prefer human companionship without competition. He is not a fan of dogs, we assume this is likely due to his time on the streets just trying to survive. We do not recommend a home with children, as he can be very emotional at times - but treated with patience and a calm demeanor, he will reward his new family with soft meows and affectionate headbonks. He has a purring motor that won't stop, as well.
He has tested positive for FIV. Cats with FIV can live for many years. Many cats that test positive have conquered the virus, like people that test positive for TB. Others were exposed but never got it. It is transmitted through deep bites, so unneutered males living on the streets are the most prone.
