Gretel's Story...
Gretel and her siblings and mom were all surrendered to a local pound. The pound contacted us and of course, one look and we couldn't say no! Gretel is about 10 weeks old and very sweet! This girl gets along great with other dogs, and loves to play. She's a great mix of playful but snuggly and is the calmest of the bunch. Gretel can be a bit shy when you first meet her but warms up quickly (she loves to be held!). Her mom weighs about 45 pounds so we expect she will be around that same weight, give or take a little! Gretel is in foster in West TN and will be transported once her adoption is finalized. If you'd like to add Gretel to your family, please visit our website at www.goofyfootrescue.org and fill out an online application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gretel, a Hagerstown German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever for sale in Hagerstown, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Hagerstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hagerstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hagerstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hagerstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
