My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog's fosterhome is located in: Jacksonville, Florida

Loka (LOW-ka) was rescued from a kill shelter in Kentucky. He was turned in to the shelter along with several other Rat Terriers, and had run out of time. Loka is only about 1 year old and weighs 12 pounds. He came to rescue with a very nasty skin infection, which our vet feels may have been caused by several things. Bad nutrition and lots of fleas contributed to Loka's "seedy" appearance. The inflammation is all cleared up, but Loka's coat is a little slow growing back. Loka does very well with the other dogs in his foster home, and is extremely eager to please his human foster family. To check for updates and see more pictures of Loka please check out his album by clicking here.

OUR ADOPTION FEE is $150 ($175 for puppies younger than 12 months; $200 for American Hairless Terriers).

IS THIS DOG AVAILABLE? If the bio above doesn't say that there's an adoption pending, then YES! he or she IS available. As soon as we approve an application, we'll post it, so you will NOT get more current info by emailing us to ask if the dog is available. To "get in line" to adopt or get more details, you MUST CLICK HERE to submit an Adoption Application.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS DOG?
The email address on this page is for website-related issues ONLY. For answers to specific questions about a particular dog, you MUST submit an Adoption Application! That is the only way to access the fosterparent for this particular dog, who is the only person who can answer specifics about this dog's personality or geographic location. (Our dogs are located in private fosterhomes around the state, and we do not provide those addresses on the Internet or to casual inquiries, and you cannot just "drop by" to see a dog without prearranging it with the fosterhome.) Because we are an all-volunteer organization and receive a very high volume of inquiries, we can only respond personally to people who have demonstrated a serious interest in adoption by filling out our application.
