Benson's Story...
This sweet pup is approx 4 months old and 21 lbs as of 2/15. He should be upwards of 60 lbs when fully grown. He looks like a Pyrenees mixed with border collie/australian shepherd. He is nearly house and leash trained and his foster mom takes him on daily walks to socialize him. He loves his toys, loves to play, is crate trained , he is just a typical sweet pup that needs a great family and a nice fenced yard to play in. He is going to be too big for an apartment and no children under 10 years of age. He is medium energy. He is calm and confident, loves men and women alike, curious but not fearful, he does have some herding behavior but does not chase cars or bikes, and still has his puppy teeth, so a little mouthy, but that is subsiding and for that reason, no small children.

If you live in MA, there are new requirements for rescue dogs - according to the State Law, all rescues have to be quarantined for 48 hrs at the Ben Elder Kennels in Westport, MA. There is additional cost for this quarantine and new required health cert by a licensed MA vet. We will go over all fees with you via email.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Benson, a Woonsocket Great Pyrenees/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees/Australian Shepherd for sale in Woonsocket, or seeking a Great Pyrenees/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Woonsocket.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Woonsocket already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Woonsocket breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Great Pyrenees/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Woonsocket paves the way for another one to be saved.
