My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello my friends! My name is Brit, and I am an amazing pup! I’m 8 months old and I am a Chihuahua mix…mixed with greatness! I’ve had a little trouble with my hip, and my friends at All About Paws got me surgery so that it won’t hurt me anymore. Really, I don’t even notice it much; I’m more interested in having fun, so you will have to ask my rescue about the details of my surgery. The only thing that is tricky is jumping on the couch. My foster mom picks me up to snuggle with her, and then makes sure to put me back down gently, at least for now until my hip heals more. Anyway, I get around just fine, so I love to play with toys by myself, with my foster mom, and with my foster K9 sister. I love to snuggle too. If I am playing, and my foster mom invites me to snuggle, I’m always ready for some good, calm lap time. My foster mom says that I must be really smart because I already know how to play by myself and be independent, sleep in my crate quietly all night, and I’m almost all the way potty trained! I get to go outside a lot and I potty every time; the most important trips are right after I eat; my food just goes straight through me! Sometimes, when my foster mom gets home, I get so excited that a little…you know…#1 comes out. But I’ve been working hard to not let that happen so much; I’d rather do my business outside. I would really like a mom or dad that wants to spend a lot of quality time with me; I would love to learn some tricks, and for you to teach me how to walk on a leash really good; sit, stay…you know…so I can show off my smarts. I would enjoy a doggie brother or sister, as long as they like me. I get a little sad when another dog won’t hang out with me or play. Having little kids in my family may not be the best for me because I am a smaller dog, and also because of my hip trouble. Even though, I love every human I meet, even the little ones! So, in case all this stuff doesn’t already tell you what a great dog I am (it totally does), I have to add that I have the best personality. I am just always upbeat and lovin’ life. What’s funny, and my foster momma thinks its super cute, is that when I am falling asleep I make some little grumpy noises. If its bed time and I think someone is making too much noise, I’ll remind you that I’m trying to sleep with my little noises. Other than that I’m pretty quiet. When my foster pack gets to barking though, I like joining in…it’s just a part of being a dog! And then when you get home from work or running errands, I’ll make my little grump noises because I’m so excited you are back. Sometimes it sounds like I’m asking questions, so my foster mom tells me all about her day; and I really enjoy that. I also love playing in the yard so a fence is a MUST in my new home. Well, thanks for reading about me. I hope I find my forever home soon, then I can spend practically my whole life with my forever family; and it will just be so great! Brit is up to date on all shots, heart worm negative, on heart worm preventative, microchiped, de-wormed, and spayed. Brit’s adoption fee is $300.00. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport, WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS. For events calendar and adoption application please go to our website at aaprescue.org
