6/25/08 Ace has really come along way since he's been in Maine- Here's what his foster mom has to say about him. " He doesn't have wiry hair or a funky name like labradoodle or puggle but man he's got personality!! Ace is a sweet heart!!! All he wants is to play and get as many hugs and kisses as possible. He is definitely not aware of his size and has no problem curling up and falling asleep in your lap. He has been doing great with basic training. There have been no accidents in the house, he sits well and is doing great with a long training leash and even off of it for short periods of time. Ace still gets distracted by other animals especially birds and squirrels he will chase what ever outdoor creature he sets his eyes on. He gets along great with my female dog, they play for hours. He absolutely loves car rides and going every where with you. I think he would make a great camping/hiking companion. He refuses to stay in a crate but doesn't seem to need it; I've been able to leave him out and alone through out the day while I'm at work and over night while we're sleeping with out any problems/accidents. Ace is just looking for consistency and is ready for that forever home willing to make him part of the family."
5-26-08 Ace is in Maine and what a good boy he is! He is a handsome boy that wants to please his people and is very food motivated so easily trainable. He does well on leash and seems to know some simple commands like sit. He is very sweet and would be a great dog for an active family!
Handsome Ace is a black Labrador Retriever mix with white markings and is about four years old. On February 5, a tornado devastated parts of Williamson County, Tennessee, just south of Nashville. Ace was one of several dogs who were found and brought to the shelter the day after the storm. He was never claimed. We can only imagine what he endured during his ordeal. Ace is a happy-go-lucky, energetic dog who loves everyone. He enjoys going for walks, loves to play and enjoys being hugged and petted. He has an eager-to-please personality that should make him easy to train. Ace will be a loyal and devoted companion. We are especially proud that Ace donated blood at a veterinary clinic and saved another dog's life.
