Jonas's Story...
Hi there, my name is Jonas, and I’m an extremely friendly Snowshoe Siamese mix boy. I’m incredibly people oriented and love giving head butts, especially right up against your face. I’m also a talkative boy, I start saying hello as soon as you come home and especially before meal time! I prefer to be right next to you at all times, being cuddled up is my favorite thing in the world. I sleep on the bed next to my foster mom every night, and I’ll snuggle for as long as you’ll let me. Sometimes I’ll sleep on the pillow, but usually I settle in pushed up against you, purring in contentment.

I lay right there, looking up at you with my beautiful, big, blue eyes. I’m definitely a lap cat, I’ll sit on you purring away for as long as you’ll let me stay. You can tell that I’ve lived a really tough life on the streets as a stray, but I’m so super sweet you would never know it from my personality. I know I’m the best and most affectionate pet in the world, so I much prefer to be the only pet you have. I came to 4Paws from a shelter in Southwestern Virginia, right after the blizzard I’m named after. I’ve adjusted quite nicely to the spoiled life!

I’m estimated to be somewhere between 5-7 years old. I’ve been neutered, micro chipped, I’m up to date on all my shots, and I tested negative for feline leukemia but positive for FIV. You can read more about FIV at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jonas, a Merrifield Snowshoe cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Snowshoe for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Snowshoe cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Snowshoe breeders who help with Snowshoe rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
