My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

4/12/16 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

Adoption Fee: $350
Fostered in Texas
Age: 4.5 years
Weight: 10.5 lbs.

2/19/16 - Hi Everyone. My name is Lucy and I would like to tell you a little about myself, where I came from, where I am currently, what I’m looking for in a new home and what my personality is like. Guess you could say I’m going to go down my resume for you.

Well, it all started when my previous mom listed me on craigslist (which is usually never a good idea, I just happened to have lucked out and landed with a lady who was really nice and is taking care of me). My previous mom had cancer and that is why she was giving me up. Can’t say that everything was all good at that home, since I wasn’t up to date on any vetting (except for being spayed), and tested heartworm positive which means I wasn’t being given that monthly pill all dogs should get.

Anyway, my foster mom got me, brought me to the vet, got my shots, treated me for heartworms, helped me put on a little weight (ok, now I could take off a little, lol), and treats me great. Since I was high heartworm positive and the nasty worms had a while to work on my body, I’m not as active as most pups my age and when going for a walk, will tire quicker. In my foster home, there are two other dogs. I’m fine co-existing with them and will even play a little with one in the home that will initiate the play, but I’d would just LOVE having someone all to myself and being the only pet. I even let one of the dogs here lay on the pillow with me if he comes up and lays down, but I never go join them.

I am a hearty eater and pratically finish my food as quickly as it is put down. I would probably benefit from one of those slow feeding bowls that makes you work a little harder to get the food so as not to gobble it up. I love to sit in my humans lap, but cannot jump on the furniture, so will whine to be put up on the sofa with you. When foster mom leans over to pick me up, I do the Yorkie bow with my front down and my butt up in the air. It’s really cute, you should see it.

When I’m in foster moms lap, if someone walks by, I let out a cute bark to let them know not to invade our together time and space. I’m not mean, just protecting my person and our space. Haha Foster mom tells me not to do this because it is mean sounding, but I would never lunge or bite anyone, just talking. Guess I’m just a little jealous lady. I also get bent if one of the other pups jumps up to want some attention. I’ll let out a low grumble and move to the other side of the sofa. I’m definitely not an alpha and will give up the spot, but just don’t want to and let you know that I’m not a fan of sharing. I’m not picky who I get attention from, any lap will do, just don’t want to share it.

I’m not a fan of being held, and will wiggle till you put me down. I’m doing great on my potty habits which I hear is a great thing in the doggy world. Guess that’s a plus for me. I’ll be getting my teeth cleaned soon and will then be ready to join my new family. So I’m officially letting you know that you can go on over to the applications and fill one out for me.

Thanks
Lucy
