Here's what the humans have to say about me:
An adoption application on AVA can be found at the following link: http://wp.me/P73YMd-1h
Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com. Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You would be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing manager, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.
Gorgeous. Gentle. Grateful. Kind. Loving. Special. Irreplaceable. Genuine. Tender. Angelic. These are all adjectives which come to mind when describing AVA. This girl is a dream. She is about 2 years old, house trained, and perfect in her crate. She is excellent with all dogs from shih tzus to hundred lb giants. She adores children and is quite delicate with them for a 50-55 lb girl. AVA also gets along with kitty cats. She is an excellent passenger in the car. She is shy with new people at first, but always remains kind. Once, she knows and trusts you she will be the best cuddler/couch buddy/ bed buddy you could ever wish for. To know AVA is to love her; it is impossible not to do so. AVA is at least partially deaf, but that doesn't slow her down one bit. She is so well functioning that we didn't even realize she may be deaf for weeks. AVA is a once in a lifetime dog who deserves a family who will love and cherish her for life. She will return her forever family's love tenfold.
AVA is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Her $450 adoption fee includes interstate health certificate and transport to Knoxville.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
