My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I’m Chloe, what’s your name? I don’t know if you remember me, but I am the 6-7 year old yorkie mix that was left, tethered to a garage door on a short leash with no shelter or room to move. It was super-dooper cold and scary to be left like that for so long. Thankfully, someone cared to call authorities, and make sure that I was taken care of, and eventually brought to NBS Animal Rescue. Now, I’m looking and feeling much better. Despite what I’ve been through, I’m actually extremely affectionate and loving. In fact, once I make a friend, I pretty much become their shadow. I don’t mind other mellow dogs and cats, but too much action from small kids and playful four-legged pets is overwhelming for me. I’ve been doing pretty good with potty training too, and the only accidents I’ve had have been because I am afraid to be left and forgotten like I once was. To be honest, I have separation anxiety, to the point where it quite literally scares the poop out of me. Sometimes I get so scared, I’ve worried myself sick. I will need person or family that understands that, and will have patience teaching me that I will not be forgotten again. More than anything, I want to believe that there is a home out there for me that would never forget me or leave me outside when it’s so cold out. When I am comfortable – I do want you to know that I am a first-class snuggler, and LOVE to give kisses. Also, I should mention I'm a great ride-along for car rides, and love going for walks.

Do you like curling up and watching a good tv show or movie, maybe a good book? If so – I’m the perfect lap dog. Also, I don’t mind sweaters to keep me warm, and I certainly don’t mind delicious treats, belly rubs and ear scratches, just say’n! Do you think you or someone you know might have a loving home for a girl like me? I’d really like a happily ever after of my own. Would you mind sharing my story, so that I can have a happy tail of my own to tell? Thanks!

Kisses,
Chloe

P.S. My friends in rescue do have some adoptive requirements for me.

-Children must be 10 years or older, or no children may even be more ideal for me. Sudden movements scare me, and kids need to be kids!

-I'd prefer someone who is home more often than not, and won't often have to leave me for longer than 6 hours since I have severe separation anxiety.

-I will need a home that is tolerant that I do bark when I am scared, and it takes me a good 5-10 minutes to settle down in my crate.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

Do you think I might be the perfect addition to your family and want to meet me?? Please:

1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out an online adoption application and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pets veterinary history.

3.) Call your references and let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number as they will be speaking with a member of our team as a personal references.

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and will fill out an adoption application right away, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family. Would you please help me by sharing my picture and information on your Facebook page, or e-mail to your friends and family members? I'm a great pup and I really deserve a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
