Mossie is our sweet, timid girl :) She's a beautiful pointer mix, about three years old.

She was very scared when she was in the pound.

Out of the pound, it took her a little bit of time to relax. Now, a couple of weeks later, Mossie is still a bit timid, but she's getting braver by the day!

She spent an exciting weekend meeting new people and new dogs, and did well with all of them. YAY, Mossie!

She had her first doggy play date and had so much fun! And she went with foster mom to visit her parents and also did well - especially after she met and got to know their dogs.

As with many shy dogs, Mossie follows the lead of other balanced dogs. If they are safe and secure, it makes it easier for her to trust, as well.

These pictures show a happier, calmer Mossie who is learning that she is safe and loved, and doesn't have to be so afraid any more <3

Mossie was in heat when we pulled her from the pound, but now that it is winding down we'll be scheduling her for her spay surgery.

She's already seen our vet and is up to date with all of her vaccines, and tests that we do routinely when a dog comes into our rescue.

Mossie will do best in a home with another dog. We're looking for a family with children 7 years old or older - the quick movements of really small children would startle her. She hasn't yet been tested with cats.

She will do best with a family who can continue to give her the time and encouragement she needs to continue to grow in confidence.

She is an incredibly gentle, sweet, loving dog who will make a wonderful new family member.

We're accepting applications for Mossie, although she won't be cleared for an adoption to be finalized until she is spayed and has a chance to recover from the surgery.

About Furry Friends Foster and Rescue Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

We are an animal rescue working to save animals from bad situations, care for any medical or behavioral needs, and place them in wonderful forever homes. Dogs in our rescue mainly come from municipal pounds within CT. We also take owner surrenders and occasionally will take dogs from outside of CT, if we have room in the rescue and the dog's or cat's situation is urgent.

We are approved as a 501c3 public charity by the Internal Revenue Service, are a tax exempt public charity with the State of CT, and hold an active CT animal import license.

Our Adoption Process...

Anyone wanting to adopt one of our animals must first fill out an application. We check personal, vet, and landlord references (if applicable). If the application is approved we will schedule a home visit by one of our volunteers. Once you are fully approved to adopt, we will schedule a meet and greet with the dog in our rescue, and all family members and other pets. If everyone agrees, you will be able to adopt.
