My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Kiley, an 11 year old, 6 pound, female Papillion. I am a super sweet and social girl. I am currently living in a foster home with another dog. While I am okay sharing the house, couch, food, and attention with him, I am independent and do not like it when he comes within my bubble. I would prefer a home where I am only dog or where the other dog is as independent as I am. I enjoy going on walks and exploring the outdoors, but my favorite thing to do is snuggle. I will find the softest place, whether it be a blanket, pillow, or human, and I’ll curl up and snuggle in. I sleep well in a crate (with my fluffy blanket of course) and am house trained. I am just fine with kids, but I am tiny so they need to be aware of my small size. If you are looking for an independent, cuddly, adventurer, I am your girl!

****My adoption fee is $295.****

The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.

All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws.

Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $25 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.

The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
