Sweet Sophie is a beautiful, 18 pound female Shih Tzu/mix, all white with a tan patch by her tail. She is nine years old and came into rescue because her owners could no longer care for her. She is in excellent health and is quite active. Sophie has a sweet and gentle personality, is very affectionate, and loves sitting next to you on the couch and curling up next to you at night. She follows her foster parents around the house, always being close by. She is a good eater and walker, perfectly potty-trained, rides well in the car, and sleeps soundly all night. Sophie loves to chase her tennis ball around the house.
Sophie would prefer a quiet home with a family who can spend lots of time with her, as she thrives on being with people. She has done well with her foster siblings, but does not enjoy active dogs and probably would do best as an only dog. She does not like being around small children.
Sophie requires a daily medication for allergies, which she will need to take for the rest of her life. The medication (pills) costs about $15.00 per month. But she is otherwise healthy, spayed, current on vaccinations, is microchipped, and on heartworm preventative. Her adoption fee is $120.00, plus $8.73 sales tax, for a total of $ $128.73. Her foster parents would like her adopters to live within 75 miles of the Twin Cities and encourage them to attend the Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion in September.
