Dixie's Story...

If you like sturdy, compact, no nonsense, low maintenance dogs, you will like Dixie, our 3 year old female blue heeler. Dixie LOVES to play ball and with her all weather coat will love to be your walking or running companion in all types of weather. Dixie loves people and we especially like her because she is so alert and responsive to our commands. We think Dixie will fit with about any family with a fenced yard, but she may be too quick for very old or very young people.

Please visit our website to learn more about this pet or email Beverly for more information.

Adoption application, home visit, fencing and adoption agreement are required for adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Palmyra Blue Heeler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Blue Heeler for sale in Palmyra, or seeking a Blue Heeler dog from a breeder in Palmyra.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Palmyra already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Palmyra breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Blue Heeler breeders who help with Blue Heeler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Palmyra paves the way for another one to be saved.
