Hi. My name is Buddy. My rescue mom found me wandering the streets. I had walked so long on the pavement that the pads on my feet had worn off. I was brave enough to let her approach me, put on a collar and save me. Now, my temporary home is a boarding facility, and my rescue mom visits me. We go on long walks and to the park. I like all of the nice people at the boarding facility, but I really want a home of my own (as an only pet).

Here are a few things I like: playing ball & Frisbee, going on walks or runs, having my belly rubbed, snuggling on the couch (with permission of course), pleasing people, meeting new people and treats.
My rescue mom says I am good on leash, in the car and in a crate. Even though I have a lot of energy and love to play, I am perfectly content resting next to someone’s feet. I thoroughly enjoy being with people and greeting them with a supercharged tail wagging and happy dance. Also, I am outstanding with cues such as sit, down and shake. Shaking is my favorite. I am eager to learn new things and earn rewards (especially treats). In fact, I have worked with a really nice trainer and participated in classes.

I am approximately 4 years old, 70 lbs. and all vetting is up-to-date (vaccines, neutered, heartworm negative, etc.).

If you are able to foster me or provide me with a permanent home, please contact my rescue mom, Lisa, at or on my Facebook page (Buddy’s Pursuit). You can also email the rescue at

About Orphan Annie Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Thank you for visiting Orphan Annie Rescue! We rescue cats & dogs from all over Georgia, many of them come to us on their "last day" at high intake shelters. We have a variety of breeds, sizes, and personalities within our program, and we look forward to working with you to find the right match. We are an all volunteer organization and do our best to respond to emails within 24 hours and applications within 72 hours.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have a shelter, and all of our animals are in loving foster homes. We hold adoptions every Saturday from 12 - 3:30 at the Perimeter PetSmart (128 Perimeter Center W, Atlanta, GA 30346).

Our Adoption Process...

1. What are the adoption fees?
Currently our adoption fee for cats is $75 for one and $100 for two. The adoption fee includes the shots up-to-date, spay/neuter, deworming, microchipping, and combo-testing.

The adoption fees for dogs are below. There are some exceptions on the fees, which will be noted in the write up provided for the dog. The fee includes the shots up-to-date, spay/neuter, heartworm test, microchipping, deworming, and treatment of any known medical condition.
$275 for puppies under 6 months old
$250 for dogs 6 months - 7 years
$150 for dogs 8 years and older

2. What is your adoption process?
The first step in our adoption process is to complete an application here. We do our very best to respond to applicants within 72 hours of receipt of an application. However, we are all volunteers, so sometimes it can take a bit longer depending on the volume of incoming applications. The process typically takes no more than 1 week. We do often perform home visits as part of our adoption process. Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

3. Do you do out of state adoptions?
Yes, but only on certain animals, and we only adopt along the east coast. If you want to know if a specific animal is available for out of state adoption, please email us. Generally, it will say in an animals' write up online if s/he is available for adoption out of state.

4. Do you have a physical shelter?
No, all of our animals live in loving foster homes until they are adopted.

5. How can I meet your cats and dogs?
Adoption Events are held every Saturday at the Petsmart in Dunwoody, GA (near the Perimeter Mall) from 12-3:30. Address: 128 Perimeter Center West, Atlanta, GA 30346. Please not that not every animal we have comes to every adoption event. If you are interested in meeting a particular animal, please email or complete an adoption application to begin the adoption process.
