Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Helen is a 2 year old, 20 pound Border Collie...maybe Sheltie mix. Helen's story is a bizarre one. She was dumped at night at a high kill shelter- left outside in a box. The strange part is she had been spayed before being dumped and the staples in her belly had grown into her skin. Her left eye had also been surgically removed. Why would someone have a dog spayed, her eye removed and then dump her in the middle of the night at a high kill shelter???
All this trauma has not affected Helen. She is happy, eager to please and very social with her foster siblings which consists of 2 labs and 3 cats (2 of which are handicapped). Helen does not have a strong prey drive so therefore does not chase the cats.
She currently resides in a 2 story home and has no trouble navigating around the house and/or up and down the stairs. She walks nicely on a leash and rides well in the car. She is also crate trained and housebroken.
She is a dog who truly loves people and wants her chance of having her very own forever family. She loves to sit on your lap or just hanging out laying at your feet.
Some might consider Helen damaged goods because she is missing any eye and doesn't have completely perfect vision in the other. We disagree. Helen may not be your "normal" dog but she is perfect in every other way and deserves everything a "normal" dog does.
