My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Make A Difference in your Community - Adopt a Shelter Dog! Would you like to foster a Shelter Survivor? For more information, visit us at www.sheltersurvivors.com.

Say hello to Moses! His foster mom gave him this name because she thinks he has an "old soul", even though at the tender age of 2 years old he is merely a "young adult". Moses was found as a stray and was trembling and shaking when he arrived at the shelter. The shelter staff sent out a plea for a rescue to take him, as he was not doing well in that environment.

Moses is initially shy, but warms up quickly. He is a big mush ball that wants nothing else then to give love and be loved. He is a true "lap dog"! It is obvious that he had a home at one time. He is already neutered, and he knows "sit", "paw" and "down".

Moses gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes, both male and female. When he plays with them, he jumps and prances like a deer. He tailors his play style to match the dog he is with, and it is great watching him gently step over a mini-dachshund and then tear around the yard with the larger dogs. He is goofy and affectionate and would really love a family that will sit with him on the couch, snuggle, and watch TV. He has the cutest under bite and very soulful, amber eyes.

Moses is about 2-3 years old and approximately 55 pounds, but he does need to gain some more weight. He is neutered, up to date on all his shots, micro-chipped, heartworm negative, and completely housebroken. He has great manners and although he loves his "treats" (which he takes very gently) he does not beg. His foster family allows him free access to the house with their other dogs while they are at work, and he is perfectly behaved. He is such a great dog - a true ambassador for the breed! Although he gets along great with every human he meets, we are recommending a home without small children.

If you would like to meet Moses, please fill out our online application or email us at sheltersurvivors@live.com. It will expedite the process. Check the events page on our website for more information and directions to meet our dogs.
