MATILDA's Story...
An adoption application on MATILDA can be found at the following link: http://wp.me/P73YMd-1h
Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application and do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.

MATILDA, or Tilly as we like to call her, is a sweetheart. Her scruffy little face melts the heart of everyone she sees. She is also a very good girl who does fabulously well with children and other dogs. She is full of sweet snuggles and kisses around the clock! She is very chill by puppy standards and her little tail is wagging more often than not. She enjoys attention, but is also curious and often likes to wander around and investigate things. MATILDA is a bright student when it comes to housetraining. Her foster home is a downtown condo, so she and her foster brother sometimes use puppy pads for peepee emergencies. She picked up on those very quickly but definitely prefers to do her business outside. As of 2/22/16 MATILDA is 11 weeks old. Her forever family is going to be incredibly lucky to this superstar pup their own!

MATILDA is microchipped and has been vaccinated as many times as age will allow.
Her $450 adoption fee includes interstate health certificate and transport to New England.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

MATILDA, a Parsippany Giant Schnauzer/German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Giant Schnauzer/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Parsippany, or seeking a Giant Schnauzer/German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Parsippany.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Parsippany already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Parsippany breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Giant Schnauzer/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Giant Schnauzer/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Parsippany paves the way for another one to be saved.
