Bonita's Story...
Little Bonita lives up to her name. She is the prettiest 6 pound Chihuahua/(possibly mixed with a bit of fawn-we think she looks like a little deer) who is 9 years young and can walk for hours but is also happy being in the lap of her person. Because she is fine-boned, she’d do better in a home with no small children or big dogs, but she does like to play with other quiet dogs her own size. Cats don’t bother her, and she loves sleeping under blankets in her person’s bed. She takes a few days to warm up because she was with the same person for eight years who had to give her up when he moved into a facility that wouldn’t let her join him. She’s a little doll. If you would like to make Bonita part of your family, please complete an online application at www.lapdogrescue.org a

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bonita, a Tijeras Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Tijeras, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Tijeras.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tijeras already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tijeras breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tijeras paves the way for another one to be saved.
