This dog's fosterhome is located in:
****South Windsor, Connecticut****

Miah (pronounced Mee-ah) is a very active, playful little girl who would do well in a family with children older than 9. She is about 15 pounds and about 12 to 18 months old. She is crate trained, housetrained and has learned to use a doggie door if available. Miah prefers to potty in a fenced yard, but if her humans would teach her, Miah would probably learn to potty while leashed. She is shy at first but is doing much better at coming for petting and hugs. Miah loves to play, play, play. Miah is doing great with the other dogs in her foster home and loves to play with them. She has discovered the dog toys and enjoys pulling them out of the toy box to play with. Miah would be a terrific family pet. She is very energetic and would love a fenced in yard to run in. Once she has tired herself out, she will sit next to you on the couch covered with a blanket. She is learning to walk on a leash and enjoys the neighborhood sights and sounds. She may be a good agility prospect. Do you have room in your heart for Miah?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Miah, a Winston-Salem Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Winston-Salem, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Winston-Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winston-Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winston-Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winston-Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
