ADOPTED! Parker's Story...
This dog's fosterhome is located in: ****Tampa, Florida**** Parker has been adopted! -- Please look at our other Rat Terriers awaiting homes! Parker is a handsome one year old male. He is a tall guy (about 17 inches) and weighs around 15 pounds. He is very active and needs to have space to run and play. Although he is young, he is very smart and knows his basic commands, and how to properly walk on a leash. He is in training right now to be a very well-adjusted, happy dog. He definitely needs to have humans who can be his leaders. He is a follower, and should not be given too much leeway. He knows his boundaries and will not jump on furniture or go where he is not allowed to be in the house. He is housebroken and uses the doggie door to go potty outside. He adores being around people, and loves playing with other dogs. He likes going to the dog parks and will run for hours with his dog friends. He likes being chased and playing with his toys. He would do best in a home where there is another playful dog, a home with children to play with him, and a very, very active owner. If you think Parker would make a great addition to your home, please fill out an application. Please see more pictures of Parker!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

ADOPTED! Parker, a Winston-Salem Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Winston-Salem, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Winston-Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winston-Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winston-Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winston-Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
