Tempest's Story...
AVAILABLE 06-01-15 On May 29 because the owner could no longer care for them, Tempest and her 7 week old kittens were brought to the Shelter. Tempest cared for her babies until they were old enough to care for themselves and be adopted. Now she's been spayed, vaccinated and micro chipped. She is enjoying her freedom from motherhood. Tempest is a petite feline who is both people and cat friendly. She enjoys playing, napping and eating. Her former owner described Tempest playful, active and curious. This two year old sweetie would make a great feline companion. So please come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City, meet Tempest and consider giving her a FOREVER home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tempest, a Elizabeth City Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
