Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there!! My name is BLACKIE … and I want to be your best friend. I’m a wirehaired terrier and my Foster-Mom says I look like Sandy from Annie the musical (whatever that means) except I have black/grey hair. I'm about 6 years old, the perfect size at 34 pounds, and I came all the way from Missouri with my bestest friend, Magic. I was a little sick, so I had to get some medicine and be quiet for a couple of months. That’s been hard because I really want to run around the back yard, but Foster-Mom says I'm all better now and I’ll be able to play outside real soon!
I really like my friend Magic and my doggy foster brother. We all sit together on the windowsill and watch the birds, squirrels, and kids play in the snow. I’ve never met any young kids, but Foster-Mom thinks I’d be good with them. She says I’m really gentle and patient. I don’t get angry or aggressive with anyone … but I do like to chase her cat!
I like squeaky toys and empty milk jugs to chew on--I am smart enough to know you don’t chew furniture! I’m learning commands like EASY (on leash), WAIT/STAY (at doors/crosswalks), SIT/WAIT (to get my leash on). I have also learned that I should go potty outside, not inside.
Foster-Mom says I’m really good in my kennel: I feel all safe and comfy in there when she's away. I sleep in my kennel at night (I like to listen to classical music!) and I don’t bark.
I’m a little scared sometimes when I hear loud voices or noises (maybe from something that happened before). Foster-Mom cuddles and pets me and that makes me feel safe. I love to cuddle with her and could just relax on the couch all day long… except…..I also love going for walks! I smell everything and take my time walking. I like to meet people and other dogs, and everyone I meet I like!
If your dog wants a new friend, I want to meet you both! I will be the bestest friend either of you has ever had, if I do say so myself.
My adoption fee is $200 and it includes my vet exam, heartworm treatment and follow-up test, distemper combo vaccination, bordetella vaccination, rabies vaccination, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm preventative and neuter.
