Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Carolina came to us Super Bowl weekend. The big game is over and her team lost, but this puppy is no loser! She is quite the team player and ready to be part of a family. She is about 3 months old, weighs just over 20 pounds, and looks like a Shepherd/Black Mouth Cur mix. But her breed is just a guess, so only those willing to take pot-luck in terms of her ultimate breed and size should apply!
If you are looking for a puppy to add to your family, don't sit on the sidelines! Carolina is super sweet and very well socialized. She was in a foster home with young kids, 2 and 5 years old, and did just great. She is not nippy or mouthy or jumpy, in spite of being a young puppy. She sleeps through the night in her crate without a peep; and she is not much of a barker. She is on her way to being house-trained but still has accidents. She is fine with other dogs, knows how to walk on a leash, and likes everyone she meets.
Because she is still young, Carolina needs a family where someone is home part or all of the day to finish her potty-training. Obedience training or puppy school is also required. You can meet Carolina at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road, but call first (847-251-6750) in case she is visiting her foster home! Although you may want to adopt her on the spot, please know that you will have to go through the application process first.
Her adoption fee of $325 includes: vet exam, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm preventative and spay.
