Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.
If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Emma and Gabby are a bonded pair of 9 years young purebred Pekingese that were surrendered by a local backyard breeder. They were initially shy but their personalities have blossomed and now they are now very outgoing and playful. They love to wrestle and play together! Emma and Gabby are very dependent on one another and wherever one is, the other is right behind. Emma (the black one) even loves to play with toys! They get along well with other dogs, cats, and gentle, respectful kids over 12. Both girls have good house manners and seldom have accidents when let out on a schedule. They are both crate trained. Emma has one eye that was injured at some point in time and never treated so she does require inexpensive medication for dry eye to applied to her one eye twice daily. They weigh about 18 pounds each. These precious, happy little girls are with Happy Hound Rescue, a 501c3 rescue. They are now spayed, had dentals, are up to date on shots, are on heartworm prevention, and are microchipped. They cannot be separated, so please don’t ask. They are so bonded that when one goes to the vet the other has to go along for the ride or they both get very upset. Their adoption fee for both of them is $300.00.
