My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello everybody! I'm Clementine and I am every bit as sweet as my name sounds. I'm probably a German Shepherd mix, but don't quote me on that. My friends have told me it's just an educated guess.

I'm up-to-date on my shots and I'm micro-chipped, but I haven't been spayed yet. I'm told that soon I will need to get my big girl surgery, but for now, I'm just enjoying being a happy, playful, silly puppy.

Right now I weigh about 16 pounds. I do have some growing to do still, though. All my human companions are having a difficult time determining exactly how big I'm going to be when I'm full grown. I'm a pretty decent size for a 3-month-old puppy, but my paws aren't super big and I'm not all gangly and awkward like other puppies my age. If I had to guess, I'd say I'm probably going to be medium size. Somewhere between 40 & 60 pounds.

You want to hear something crazy? One day, someone came to the high-kill shelter where I was impounded and adopted me. Sadly, they weren't allowed to take me home that night because I hadn't been fixed yet. The next morning I was sent to the vet to be spayed, but the vet deferred my surgery because I was vomiting and had severe diarrhea. When the vet called my adopters to tell them I had caught a little bug and that they postponed my surgery, my adopters decided that they didn't want a sick puppy and backed out of the adoption. I say, their loss! I'm completely over my little puppy cold and couldn't be better.

When CageFree heard about me they decided that I just had to become part of the pack. They scooped me up and sent me to live at their facility in West LA with their other rescues. Obviously, I can't wait to start the new chapter of my life, but for the meantime, I am having so much fun playing with all my canine pals.

I love people and I LOVE other dogs! I should mention, though, that I am a little nervous around big dogs. Right now, I prefer to be around dogs more my size. My human friends don't know if I have ever been around dogs larger than me. I may just be unfamiliar with them. In case you're wondering, I'm not aggressive or anything, I just tend to hide when I am around big dogs.

Here are some things that I am looking for in a family: I would really love it if my new family were active. Just like every other puppy out there, I've got a lot of energy to burn. I spend most of my day playing. It's what I like to do! I'd also prefer that my new family be home a lot or open to sending me to daycare while they're at work. I wouldn't do well with a family who has to leave me home alone 8 hours a day. Neither one of us would be happy! I'm also hoping to find a forever home where I get lots of attention and pets. I'm a super friendly, social little girl and I would be thrilled to find someone who wants to shower me with affection.

My friends at the rescue haven't seen me in a home environment before so they don't know if I am house-broken. They're also unsure if I would do normal puppy stuff like chew up your shoes or your favorite sweater. I'd say, if you adopt me, err on the side of caution. I've still got those razor sharp puppy teeth!

In closing, if you are looking for an adorable, sweet, loving, fun, always happy puppy with a zest for life, you have definitely found her. I hate to brag, but everybody here loves me! If you come meet me, you'll understand why I am a staff favorite. So, what are you waiting for? I'm not going to be here forever. Contact CageFree and tell them you want to schedule a time to come meet me!
