Scarlett's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Scarlett's Story...
Scarlet is a 3.5 year old GSD / Beagle mix. She is crate and house trained, although she does well out of a crate (no chewing, bathroom in the house, etc.) during the day. She gets along with other dogs but can become stressed and likes some alone time too. She has not been around cats. She loved to play and wrestle with the other dogs in her foster home. She knows some basic commands, but would benefit from continued basic obedience in her forever home! She LOVES attention from her humans and would really like to be a lap dog. She walks well on the leash both alone and with other dogs. She has does well with the teenagers in her foster home, but has not been exposed to younger kids. If you want to make Scarlet a part of your family, apply online today!

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: http://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. You will receive an automated confirmation once your application is successfully submitted. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call ASAP.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scarlett, a Cincinnati German Shepherd Dog/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Beagle for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Beagle dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Beagle breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
