My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bowie is a 4 1/2 month old Ibizan hound/Retriever who comes to us all the way from Myanmar (formerly the country of Burma). Bowie, who weighs 25 lbs, has had an amazing life story so far. His mother was rescued from the floods that ravaged Myanmar last year. Mom was emaciated and ill but managed to give birth to 5 beautiful puppies. Mom died 6 days after giving birth and three of Bowie’s siblings also died - leaving him and his sister, Iman as the sole survivors of the little family.

Bowie is a little shy and laid back, especially with new people, but he warms up quickly and gets along well with other dogs (when he sees other dogs he gets excited and his hair stands on end but he is not aggressive); he is fine with people although he seems to be afraid of kids and strollers. He is excited about cats, but not in an aggressive way - just curious. Nevertheless, he can only live with cats who want to play with him and are not intimidated by his pursuit of them. He is a little timid on the leash and, like any puppy, he can get rambunctious on his walks. He needs some training but he is a smart boy and should do fine over time. He is a chewer and nothing is safe from him, table legs, chairs, shoes etc. He's still a baby so we expect him to grow out of this. He is crate trained and housetrained and sleeps quietly through the night in his crate. Unfortunately he came to us with a bone infection but we are treating him for it and we expect him to make a full recovery. It doesn't stop him from loving walking outside with his person. He is a typical boisterous puppy and he is more than ready for his forever home.
