My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COURTESY POST - CONTACT SIAR1@COMCAST.NET

Rocky is 3-4 years old, about 75 lbs, maybe a husky mix or possibly German Shepherd mixed with some Rottweiler. He has the nicest, mellow personality. He was friendly from the beginning with his transporters and his new foster mom at the Big Rock Rescue ranch. He seemed to really appreciate being out of the shelter and in a home. He immediately made himself comfortable sniffing the daffodils and lounging around while foster mom did yard clean up. He was very calm in the house and quickly found a comfy bed to curl up on. He seems to be house trained as he will give a little whine to ask to go out. He's met a couple of the other ranch dogs and has done great with them. He loves his meals and is super gentle about taking his treats.

Rocky was brought in to the shelter as a stray and his people never came to collect him. He waited and waited and he was running out of time. We just do not understand why he wasn't adopted but we suspect that the shelter made him a little nervous so whomever met him there maybe didn't get to see the wonderful dog that we met. We just feel lucky that SIAR saved him and we get to foster this gentle, calm sweetheart.

Rocky is neutered and is up to date on his vaccinations. He is ready for a real home of his own where he will be treated like a treasured member of the family. Adoption fees range from $150-$250 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us.

We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!
