My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya! My name is Paco, who might you be? I’m the new fella at NBS Animal Rescue, and quite young! I’m only about 9 months old – and I am FULL of affection. Did you know I can sing? Sometimes when I get super excited, I make little singing noises and topple over with joy. I can’t help it, being loved is just awesome, right? Also – I should mention I’m an excellent ride a long buddy in the car, I walk well on the leash, I know “sit”, am a first class snuggler, and am also doing pretty darned awesome in the potty training department. During the day, I like to chase rope toys and hop on whatever laps may be open for me to curl up in. I do have to be honest, and tell you that I do have a little bit of anxiety. I’d do best in a home without children under 10 – not because I’m mean….sudden movements and running around makes me feel like I am going to get stepped on or hurt. It also takes me a little bit to settle down in my crate, and I can be kind of a stinker when I meet new dogs. It took me a few days to learn not to bark at my foster siblings. After that? Pfft – we play all the time! I’m just not good at introductions yet. Apparently Chihuahuas are known to be sassy. My breed guess is a Chihuahua-shiba inu mix. I have the body of a Chihuahua, but tail is a little fluffy and curls to the side. Hey – if the collar fits? Wear it proud! Do you think you have room in your heart or home for a fella like me?

P.S. Here are the helpful steps in applying!

1.) Visit www.NBSAnimalRescue.com happy to adopt me. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you, and whatever other pets you have in the home to make sure we all get along. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to do the next steps too. : )

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release info about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.

3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your vet). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
