Salma's Story...
This gorgeous girl is Salma. Salma is a shy, but very sweet young cat looking for her forever home. It takes a little extra time for Salma to warm up, but once she is comfortable she is an affectionate and talkative girl. Salma could live with another mellow cat. She would prefer to live in a home without children, but she should be able to adjust to a home with older children who will only play with Salma with toys, not hands. She may give "love bites" if she gets over-stimulated, so she would do best with a family with experience reading cat body language. Salma would prefer a dog-free home, as they scare her. If you can open your heart and home to this very sweet girl, please complete an adoption application located at the front desk and see if Salma is the perfect addition to your family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Salma, a Bellingham Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
