Mara's Story...
LOCATED IN FT. MYERS, FLA
Mara has stolen the hearts of the whole rescue ! She is so easy going, so sweet and shows the signs of years of neglect by humans. Mara was found on the side of a road under a bush, frozen in fear. A Good Samaritan called animal control for her and the driver thought maybe she was injured and could not move. That was not the case, she was so scared she could not move, stand or make eye contact. Rescue took Mara in, hairless , skin was black and rough in areas and she was HW +. Mara is up to date on all her vaccinations, spayed and micro chipped. Mara has one more HW injection at the end of March and she will be ready to find her forever home. If you are looking for a quiet, gentle and a sweet lap dog you need to meet Mara. You can submit an application on our website at www.seniorpawssanctuary.com and we will contact you. We DO NOT adopt out of the state of Florida and all adopters will be required to provide a vet reference and have a home check. Mars adoption fee is $250

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mara, a Lehigh Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Lehigh, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Lehigh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lehigh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lehigh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lehigh paves the way for another one to be saved.
