My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roxie is a beautiful husky/shepherd mix puppy that came to Lizzy's from a shelter. At 10 months old she is smart, lively, independent and interested in her surroundings. She has some house manners (she has been known to jump on furniture if she thinks no one is looking), knows a few commands, is pretty well potty trained and comfortable in a crate. She also is good on a leash.
Roxie loves other dogs of all sizes. She knows how to meet them, loves to snuggle with them and most of all wants to play with them---all the time. However she has learned that she can't trust people. So she is cautious and will avoid interaction at first with both men and women. She seems to be more interested in meeting older kids than adults; we don't have any information about young children as yet. For Roxie, trust has to be earned, and it takes a little while. At this point she is not interested in snuggles with a person (unless she is tired) or affection as rewards, but she is learning.
Despite her fears, loud noises and bikes included, Roxie is a wonderful girl. She loves tennis balls and squeaky toys or simply running in the yard. She is an active dog, but does settle easily. She is, not surprisingly, also a jumper. She will jump out of an exercise pen to play with other dogs, but jump back in when she hears someone coming. She will also bolt out the door if given a moment's opportunity.
Roxie needs a home with other dogs, most importantly dogs that love to play. She also needs a secure environment that prevents escaping - as often is the case for huskies. She'll need an experienced dog family that is willing to help her learn to trust, a family with patience and the love that she has missed in her young life.
