Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Newport is an awesome 5 year old purebred blue colorpoint Ragdoll boy. When he came in, he was not a very friendly boy because he was not well treated in his home and because he had been declawed. Since he has been here, with a lot of work, he has become an awesome boy worthy of his own home.
He still must go to a cat experience household with no children. He would do better in a home without other cats, although he has learned to tolerate other cats while he has been here. No children, please, though he actually did very well when we had a baby here a few weeks ago.
He does let you know when he has had enough and he will grumble and occasionally, very rarely now, swat at you with a declawed paw. He always gives you warning when he has had enough. As I tried to show in the video, and I apologize for the disarray in our kitchen LOL, I can pick him up and hold him like a baby. He sleeps on my feet at the end of the couch when I am watching TV. He loves to cuddle up next to you, though he will not get in your lap.
Like so many of the cats that we have at Merlin's Hope Ragdoll Rescue, cats that have not had good or fair lives, Newport deserves a home. He was the one who was betrayed by his people who declawed him and then treated him badly when he retaliated because he had been mutilated. It is not his fault and he deserves a good home with good people who will love him and show him that not all people are bad.

Adoption fee is $200.
Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.
Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.
Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.
