Oscar's Story...
This handsome guy is Oscar. He is around 6 years old, and around 45lbs. He is currently on his 30 days crate rest after having been treated for heartworms which will be over mid February.

Oscar loves people and attention, and giving kisses. He is good on a leash, rides well in the car. He is good with most dogs. He does not do well with unneutered males, is better with females in general. He is not much of a player but showed a little interest in balls before going to crate rest. He is neutered, utd and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm medication. He will make some lucky person a great companion dog.

If you would like to make Oscar part of your family, please fill out our adoption application:

Adoption fee is $225 and all fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oscar, a Saint Petersburg Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Saint Petersburg, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Saint Petersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Saint Petersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Saint Petersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Saint Petersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
