Skipper's Story...
Skipper is a sweet boy who LOVES people! Skipper loves sitting on the couch with his foster mom, giving kisses, and getting petted. He is a bit timid at first, but warms up quickly. He is around 7 years old and weighs approximately 17lbs. This cutie came to us as a matted mess with a mouth full of teeth that needed to be removed. He had 16 teeth extracted and he feels so much better now! He is crate trained and is doing well with housebreaking. Skipper does well on a leash and is a quiet boy. If you would be interested in adding Skipper to your family, please fill out an application at www.goofyfootrescue.org. Skipper is being fostered in West TN with older children and other dogs of various sizes.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skipper, a Southington Schnauzer (Miniature)/Schnauzer (Standard) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Schnauzer (Standard) for sale in Southington, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Schnauzer (Standard) dog from a breeder in Southington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature)/Schnauzer (Standard) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature)/Schnauzer (Standard) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southington paves the way for another one to be saved.
