My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tommy is a young, active Blue Tick hound/pointer mix looking for his forever home. He is about 1 1/2 years old; neutered; chipped; and is up to date on all his shots. He was rescued from MCACC east shelter as a stray, so we don't know much about his history. He was very fearful and timid for quite a while, so he was probably tied or chained outside without much interaction or any training. Tommy is very shy on his first meeting with new humans or other dogs, but warms up quickly with dog savvy folks and children. He is crate trained and 95% housebroken. Tommy is not a dominant male and would enjoy the company of other dogs as long as their play and interaction is not too aggressive. He does enjoy long walks and is a good running partner. He does need daily exercise, and needs a safe and secure yard. He can be left alone for periods of time in his crate, but would not do well left alone outside. He has not been exposed to cats in a household. He is very smart and responds well to training. Tommy will need to be with an owner who is willing to continue his training on both inside and outside behavior, have a secure environment for play and exercise, and be willing to give him lots of love and attention. He is a great running companion for his foster Mom, and is doing great with his obedience training as well.
