Chickis's Story...
Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption has an incredibly loyal and sensitive dog up for adoption: Chikis.

Chikis was found on a road in Texas lying next to the dead body of his dog friend who had been hit by a car. He was heartbroken and was brought to the shelter by police officers. Then when the shelter contacted his owners they didn't want him back. Poor Chikis had a total double whammy!

The workers at the Fort Worth Animal Control shelter contacted Lucky Lab and told us we needed to save this dog he's so amazing and loyal.

We were able to get him into a wonderful foster home who showered him with the love he deserves! Chikis lives with dogs in his foster home and does quite well with them. He's sweet as can be and loves to sleep with the fosters in bed! He knows commands like "sit" and "wait". Chikis has a good temperament and and even energy. He's food motivated.

Chikis is house broken, crate trained, neutered, fully vaccinated and micro-chipped. He is about 2-3 years old.

This lab mix can be adopted in Texas.

Please apply at www.luckylabrescue.com and give this loyal boy the incredible forever home he finally deserves.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chickis, a Austin Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Austin, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
