Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATE - 8 AUGSUT 2016: We have now had Skye for a few months and have enjoyed getting to know her. Skye is slow to show the goofy, fun side of her ample personality. Once she trusts you you can see what a great girl she is. Skye is a bit insecure and prefers another dog to feel safe. She loves to go exploring so daily walks are key with this girl. She will wrestle outside with her foster brothers then find the softest doggy bed with blankets and snuggle. Skye is learning to trust people so exchanges with her will be slow at first. Give her time and she will show her goofy wiggly side. She is very gentle when taking treats and is generally a happy relaxed girl. Skye needs daily exercise to maintain her sunny disposition or she gets anxious and may find a way to relieve that stress you may not approve of. In short, this girl needs daily exercise. I now believe Skye would do well with an older, more responsible child.
Pupdate - December 11 - Skye is a beautiful athletic girl that would do best in a active home as a walking or jogging partner. She is always ready to go for a walk or wrestle and race around the back yard with her foster brother. She needs to go to a home where she will be walked daily or some form of daily exercise or she will invent games in your home you may not approve of =)
Her joy is infectious to be around as her whole body wiggles when her tail wags.
She ignores our kitties and is a polite house guest. Skye needs another dog to feel comfortable and will not do well as a single dog.
She is sensitive so a quieter home would be best for her. She is okay in short meetings with smaller children but needs a place to retreat if she becomes overwhelmed. Skye is a quiet girl and rarely vocalizes.
Original - Skye is a 2-year-old beagle mix who is fully vetted and ready for her next step in life! This streamlined, lanky girl is a little taller than your average beagle but only weighs around 25 pounds. Somewhere down the line there may be a hound in her heritage, but she's definitely beagle! Skye was a stray in Nottoway County, Virginia, so her history is unknown.
