Lottie's Story...
Lottie is a sweet, affectionate little kitten who we rescued from Putnam County Animal Control. She went from being completely scared and afraid of everyone, to being a sweet little lovebug who loves to cuddle and is extremely friendly. If you're interested in adopting this sweet little kitten, please let us know.

We start all of our adoptions with a one week sleepover, so you know everything there is to know before finalizing the adoption.

Felines do better in pairs or even more than two. Adopt one for $50 and get a second one for $25. Some of our kitties are bonded pairs and will need to go together to their purrrfect home. Of course if you only want to adopt one then we also have kitties who can be adopted alone.

Adoption Fees for Cats and Kittens: $50 for one, $75 for two
This includes vetting, UTD Vaccinations and spay or neuter

We ask that you fill out an adoption application before you meet our animals. You can download it here: http://www.floridaurgentrescue.com/adopt

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lottie, a Jacksonville American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
