Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Annie is a very sweet and eager to please 5 1/2 year old female Great Pyrenees who was born with bad knee caps. Surgery on Annie's knees when she was about 1 year old resulted in her left leg being functional, but the surgery on her right knee failed. She does put it down occasionally for balance. Annie manages to get around quite well and can move quickly if needed! she is not able to do long flights of stairs, but can handle a few, non-steep stairs. Her current weight is about 94lbs and she is on a diet.
Annie is good with cats, children and most dogs. Although because of her bad leg she should not be in a home with young children or toddlers. She has also been exposed to rabbits and chickens. She does not like other dogs near her food.
Annie loves attention but is not a "Velcro" dog. Annie loves being outside, is leash trained, and can go for walks as long as it's at her pace. She is house trained, but has never been crated. Annie is a good guardian and will bark to alert you.
Annie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and heart worm negative. A NorthStar member has offered to buy and donate a wheeled cart for Annie if her adopter and their Vet decides that Annie would benefit from a cart.
NSGPR requires a secure, visibly fenced yard for Annie and a home where she can live on the main floor with easy outdoor access. A site visit, adoption application, and adoption fee are required to adopt Annie.
