Skylar's Story...
Hi, my name is Skylar. I am a sweet 1 1/2 year old yellow lab. I'm looking for a new forever home. I'm really shy at first, but once we get to know each other, I will meet you with all the tail-wagging love you can stand. I have had problems with other dogs, so I need to be an only dog. I love to swim, fetch tennis balls, take hikes/walks, and I've been told I'm a bit of a talker :). I am very good in the house; I tell my parents when I need to go out, but it would be easier if I had my own door as I love sitting outside watching planes, birds, etc. I also know most simple commands like "sit", "stay", and "Skylar go get your ball" is my favorite!

If you are interested in this dog, please fill out an application at www.DLRRphoenix.org. Someone will call to schedule a home visit so you can become an approved adopter. Also, visit our wonderful Facebook page at www.facebook/desertlab. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skylar, a Phoenix Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
