My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Initial Bio 3/13/16 Meet Coco the Chorkie (Chihuahua/Yorkie Mix). Coco is only 1.5 years old. He weighs about 10 pounds. Coco is being fostered in Leesburg, FL. Coco's adoption fee is $400 and includes all vetting (neuter, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Coco by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.

Coco arrived at his foster home just today and is slowly learning his way around. He already discovered that the fenced backyard is a fun place to hang out, though he sticks pretty close to his foster mom. He is not too sure yet about his foster sisters and brother, but he's just getting to know them.

Coco loves car rides and being taken on walks. He will bark at things he sees along the way, but he will stop when told to. He is not too great on the leash, he likes to pull and will need a little help to learn to walk nicely. He seems to be house trained. His former owner said he likes to sleep and eat in his crate.

Coco's former mom gave him up with a heavy heart. She is disabled now and not able to take care of the needs of a young, energetic dog. She rescued him when someone advertised him on Craig's List. He was in awful condition. He had been left by his then owners with neighbors when they went on a two week vacation, and those neighbors left him tied out outside the whole two weeks. When his last owner rescued him he was covered in flea bites, sores, and had dried feces on him. He was so glad to be out of that place and has come such a long way, but now sweet Coco needs a new home again.

This young boy, who is so sweet and loving, has been through enough. His next home has to be his final and forever loving, caring home.

This week Coco will be neutered, have all his vaccinations updated, get microchipped, and get on heartworm and flea preventative. He is then ready for his new home. Coco is great with kids over the age of 9. He gets along with other dogs, but outside will try to chase anything that moves, another dog, a cat, a bicycle, so a fenced yard would be great for Coco.

If you would like to make your home Coco's last, if you want a loving boy who will be a wonderful companion, please submit an adoption application for this young pup. You will not be sorry. He will be the best buddy you will ever have.
