I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

zena's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.

zena's Story...
Meet zena! This sweet rambunctious pup is looking for her forever home. Zena was recently surrendered by her family due to them moving to a smaller home with no yard. She is one of the most loving sweet pups you'll ever meet. Due to her large size zena will need a home with lots of space and room to run. She is already house trained, spayed, microchipped and up to date on her shots. Although she has been around kids and loves absolutely everyone she meets she would be better suited for a home with no kids or older kids. If you are interested in meeting zena please stop during our office hours monday, thursday, Friday and Saturday 3-7. She truly is one of a kind 😊

For more information on adopting a homeless pet from The Humane Society of Columbiana County, please contact us via e-mail at hsccoffice@yahoo.com for an adoption application, stop by our adoption center, or call 330-332-2600.

Our adoption center is located at 1825 South Lincoln Avenue Salem, Ohio, 44460.

Our Adoption Process:
- Complete a pre-adoption application. There is no obligation to adopt when filling out this application. It is a tool we use to help us determine the pet best suited for your household and lifestyle.
- Meet with an Adoption Counselor to go over the application and discuss the animal you are considering. If you have other pets in the household, they would be introduced to the pet you are considering at this point to assess compatability.
- A vet check is done by our staff to confirm that all current and former pets are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. If you are renting, a landlord check is also required to confirm that pets are permitted and if there are any pet type/breed/size/weight restrictions.
- If everything looks like a great fit, the adoption is nearly complete! Our adoption counselors will schedule a home visit, at which time the adopted pet has the potential to stay with you if all goes well.

NO SAME DAY DOG ADOPTIONS

Why Adoption is a Great Option

zena, a Salem American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Bulldog for sale in Salem, or seeking a American Bulldog dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Bulldog breeders who help with American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
