My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shenandoah and her sisters were found in a park in a cardboard box when they were about 5 weeks old. They spent the next 2 weeks with a rescue person, then another week at a local foster home with 4 kids, 3 cats and 2 dogs—so we know these pups are all healthy and very well socialized! They are available for adoption now they are 9 weeks old, and weigh about 8 pounds.

We know nothing about these pups’ mom or dad, but this gal looks like she is part Chocolate lab. But only those willing to take pot luck-- in terms of what breed and size this little girl will turn out to be-- should apply!

Shenandoah is the most outgoing of the litter: she is spunky, has lots of personality, likes being the center of attention and loves to play. She already knows to potty outside, and is able to sleep through the night without an accident most nights.

Because she is so young, Shenandoah needs a family where someone is home part or all day to continue her potty training and keep her well- socialized. She will be ready for puppy school in a few weeks; that is another requirement for adoption.

You can meet Shenandoah and her sisters at their foster home, Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road in Wilmette, during normal business hours (847-251-6750). Although she is so cute you will want to take her home on the spot, please note you will have to go through the application process first.

Shenandoah’s adoption fee is $375, which includes vet exam, DHAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, microchip, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and spay.
