My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Makita's former owners made her live on an apartment patio for her entire life. They had two indoor dogs and Makita was left to look through the glass at them living a good life. One of the children put a rubber band around her neck and it stayed there, unnoticed until it started to dig into her neck. When the family recently moved to the grandmother's house they were planning on having Makita euthanized, because she wasn't allowed to be at the new house. A co-worker of the grandmother reached out to the Rottweiler Rescue for help, and temporarily fostered Makita until one of our foster's was able to pick her up. Although Makita has lead an unforgivable life so far, she is so happy to be around people and fellow canines to play and talk with. She has shown that she is so happy to finally have freedom!
Makita was guessed to be approx 13 years old, but after watching her for a few weeks now, her foster mom truly believes she is so much younger than that (about 3-5 years younger). With her new found freedom, Makita has made it her life's mission to finally(!!) lead a life of what ALL dogs should have: freedom to run, play, poop in her own spaces, have friends, and to show how much she loves others.
Makita is up to date on her shots. She gets along just fine with fellow canines, cats, and loves children from very small to very old. As a matter of fact... Makita NEEDS to be home with children and/or fellow friendly canines. She would also prefer a house that does not have stairs. She uses a dog door, and she is working on being potty trained. Her foster family is also in the process of teaching her basic commands, which will need to continue with her new forever family. She's VERY active and needs daily stimulation, even if it's just a basic walk each night. If you feel that you can give Makita the wonderful life she was meant to have, please fill out an adoption application by filling out an adoption application on our website at: http://www.rottsoflv.com/adopt.html Adoption fee is $100.
