Hi, I'm Buddy, a black medium-haired Maine Coon/ Bombay mix who was born in the fall of 2010. I have the typical Maine Coon big fluff of a tail and tufted ears/ paw pads. Are you surprised that a Maine Coon mix can be black? Well, watch the You Tube Animal Planet 3-minute video by Googling "Cats 101 Maine Coon" and find out that we come in all colors from white to black with tabby in between!
Maine Coon mixes are known for our gentle, loving, calm dispositions and intelligence. We Maine Coon mixes often make soft little chirping noises as we go about our day. We are delightful companions who are loving, loyal, and very patient with children. Sometimes we pick up food with our front paws.
Buddy is the perfect name for me because I'll be your best friend! I'm sweet and loving, quiet and calm. I'm shy about new places in the beginning, but I warm up! I'll come to greet you when you come in the door! People say I'm very handsome and soft! I'm a little angel!
I can be with other cats, but I get nervous around too many cats. So maybe just have one other cat, or I can be the only cat. I'm great with the small dog in my foster home because she likes cats.
Please don't be superstitious of black cats! Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have had a black cat before end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced.
Buddy is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/FeLV negative, and ready for his indoor-only home. His adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Click the green contact button so we can arrange for you to meet this beautiful black charmer.

About Buster's Friends

About Our Rescue Group...

Buster’s Friends was created in memory of Jennifer Fields. Jennifer spent countless hours rescuing and fostering hundreds of Houston’s homeless animals prior to losing her battle to cancer in May 2009. As a tribute to Jennifer and her dedication, we named the group after her beloved dog Buster, who made the journey to the Rainbow Bridge in August 2008.
